Step-by-Step Activation Process
 Sign up for the 30-Day Trial of Mailprotector Hosted Exchange 2007
You’ll soon receive a "Mailprotector Hosted Exchange Signup" email asking you to confirm the account details we captured from your signup.
 Reply to the “Signup” Email
A quick reply from you confirming that we have your details correct, and our engineers go to work to configure your account. This process usually takes just a couple of hours. You’ll then receive a second “Account Confirmation” email confirming that your account has been configured and that your boxes are ready to receive email. This email will also contain instructions for accessing your account and redirecting your Domain Name (DNS) records to activate your service.
 Configure your Mailboxes
Follow the instructions in the Account Confirmation email to setup your Mailboxes in the Mailprotector Hosted Exchange Console. (Mailprotector Support is available should you need assistance).
 Redirect your DNS/Domain Name Records
The next step is to delete your old MX records and add the new MX records you received in the “Account Confirmation” email to redirect your domain's email to Mailprotector. MX record changes usually propagate across the Internet very quickly (usually in less than a day). No email gets lost during this propagation period … just an increasing amount of email comes to you through Mailprotector’s secure systems during the transition.
 Configure your Microsoft Outlook (or Entourage) Software
You can configure new email client profiles as soon as your DNS records have been redirected to Mailprotector. Your users can also use Outlook Web Access without any additional configuration.
Optional Step: Import Existing Data and/or Email
As a final (optional) step, you may want to import existing data to your new Mailprotector Hosted Exchange mailboxes. Typically, clients like to upload Calendar and Contact data from a previous Outlook profile, though sometimes they also wish to import historical emails. Either way this step can be completed using the "Import/Export Wizard" feature of Microsoft Outlook.
